Instructional staff includes college faculty, teachers, and professionals who will be assisted by University of Delaware students. The student-teacher ratio of 2:10 will allow for intensive interaction and close supervision.

Dr. Yanaka Bernal

Yanaka Bernal is a 19-year teaching veteran with a passion for technology. She is a social studies teacher at Newark Charter but has taught at all of levels of education, from elementary school to college. Dr. Bernal has a personal goal of having every student in Delaware have the opportunity to take a computer science class regardless of their age, school, or ability level. She firmly believes in computer science for all. She has worked with the University of Delaware’s Partners4CS for the past five years and has served as the president of the Delaware Chapter of the Computer Science Teacher Association.

Emma Levering

Emma Levering is an undergraduate student at the University of Delaware going for a degree in elementary education with a concentration in special education. Emma has an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Delaware. Ms. Levering has five years of experience working with a Saturday morning mathematics program at the University of Delaware. She also has worked as an assistant with the University of Delaware’s Week of Code camp for three years and with the New Arc Academy for four years. Ms. Levering is very excited to be teaching robotics this year for the New Arc Academy.
